Updated Audi A5 ready to take the field.
The Audi A5 is preparing to receive a entire range updating after 4 years and precisely with the first Audi A5 Coupe. The updates affect all versions including also the Audi A5 Convertible and Sportback, involving engines, equipment and of course aesthetics.
The aesthetic renewal of the range A5 involved changes to the front and rear lights, now with LED technology and xenon plus, while the front of the new Audi A5 receives minor changes in the shapes with the use of air vents and fog lights. The bonnet has been redesignd with less straight lines, the shape of the bumper increases the length of 1 mm and the front wheel arches are made of aluminum. Other design news of the Audi A5 regards the possibility to have LED tail lights, while in the case of the convertible version, the top is available in 4 different colors.
The cabin of the German company has received special attention in the time of renewal: the steering wheel shows a new design and features new controls for heating and ventilation of the seats, while some seat covers are brand new as for the A5 Sportback. The S line sports package now features the black color for the interior and improves stability with a ground height reduction of 10 mm combined with 18 ” wheels. The infotainment systems have been updated and include the Audi active lane assist and adaptive cruise control with automatic braking emergency. The Radio CD with 8 speakers is standard on all the Audi A5 and can be integrated with the MMI navigation plus, which includes hard drive, 7 “screen, 3D graphics, DVD.
All engines of the new Audi A5 are equipped with direct injection, the start-stop and KERS. So that, all engines offer reduced emissions of CO2, which comes to 22%. The most important news of the petrol versions regards the 1.8 TFSI, which allow the Audi A5 Coupe to get an average of 100km with 5.7 l and 134 g/km of CO2. Other updates are planned for the sporty versions of the Audi A5, the S5 Sportback, S5 Coupe and S5 Convertible: the engine 3.0 TFSI 333 hp replaces the 4.2-liter V8 allowing a 20% less of consumption (8.1 l/100 km). On all Audi A5 is the Audi Drive Select as standards that lets you choose 4 driving modes: comfort, auto, or dynamic efficiency. The Audi A5 front-wheel features the 6-speed manual transmission or multitronic (CVT), while the four-wheel-drive models can have a manual gearbox or the dual-clutch 7-speed S tronic.
Other new features of the Audi A5 include new wheels sizes starting at smallest of 17 inches, with 225/50 tires up to 20-inch with 265/30 tires.
