2011 NEW CHRYSLER GRAND VOYAGER – UNDER LANCIA IN EUROPE

The Grand Voyager will be one of the big news for the brand Lancia in 2011. Chrysler reports, for the extra-large MPV, shows 13 million units sold around the world and this makes it the largest minivan on the market, Chrysler Grand Voyager is the confirmed leader in the segment for comfort, versatility and driving pleasure.

Chrysler Grand Voyager Limited Black is shown alongside Lancia’s news, at current Paris Motor Show (2-17 October). This is again another closer step between the two historical car brands after the transition intended to join each other range models. Town & Country – name used in the U.S. – will be big news in 2011 for Lancia in Italy and possibly in Europe, strengthening more and more Chrysler-Lancia integration  sponsored by CEO Sergio Marchionne. For the big minivan (it’s 5.14 meters long) is the time of restyling. These days, the manufacturer has released first images of the updated aesthetics. , Grand Voyager, which will be available in U.S. dealerships later this year, is expected later on the European market but with different engines.

what change? there is a greater care in design and finishes, compared to the current series : the radiator grille with a winged logo (also restyled) and thinner headlights, as have been redesigned some elements of the back, which contribute a smart look to  the Grand Voyager: the revised tail lights and tailgate, which now exhibits a chrome molding between the two optical groups. But the redesign is even stronger on the cockpit: new retro-flavored instrumentation gives the car a touch of class, while the old plastic series have given way to cured and finished coatings.

Regard to mechanics, debuts the new engine version  Pentastar 3.6 V6 from 287 hp and 352 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Compared to the current 3.8 promises an improvement in consumption. Expect to see, in the coming months, new engines (perhaps Fiat) that could make the Grand Voyager more suitable for the european streets.

The big version “Limited Black” exhibited at the Paris motor show, shows new color Brilliant Black and is equipped with the known engine, the 2.8 CRD turbo diesel 163 hp. The equipment includes: xenon headlights, sunroof, radio system with 10 speakers and 506 Watt amplifier, 17-inch alloy wheels, navigation system with Bluetooth and rear camera for parking.
