The new Lancia Delta gets to the International Motor Show in Geneva, from where it started in March 2008 when introduced its flagship’s attributes in the C segment thanks to the logic of downsizing, which is to ensure performance and luxury at less cost, size and fuel economy. At a technical level, the news is the 1.6 turbodiesel 105 hp. The commercial launch is planned for the second half of March in “Continental” Europe, while for Ireland and the United Kingdom will be in June, when Chrysler brand will arrive in the British Isles to rebadge the car name as Crysler Delta.
FACELIFT: Lancia Delta is now featuring a new grille, designed by the Lancia Style Centre, which joins the new family of cars that Lancia will present in 2011. Lancia Delta can be purchased by combining the uniques packs Hard Black and Black, which makes the car even more unique and exclusive. The Black Pack adopts 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, chrome mirrors caps – like the exhaust – and is available with an extra color “Eclipse Black”. Version Hard Black comes with a matte black paint body called “Cosmos Black”. Revised version Steel will feature the interior with technic coating, while the Delta Silver, Gold and Platinum gets updated thanks to unusual combinations of new material “Chevron” with Alcantara and leather “Poltrona Frau”.
ENGINES: entry level Steel, stands for a technic fabric seat covers, and the 1.6 Multijet turbodiesel engine with 105 hp and 300 Nm of torque delivered at 1,500 rpm. The acceleration’s value from 0 to 100 km/h is 10.7 seconds while top speed is 186 km/h. Then, CO2 emission are 120g/km in combined cycle. The 105 hp 1.6 Multijet engine is mated to a manual six-speed transmission. Petrol and diesel engines are Euro 5, all turbocharged and combined with 6-speed gearboxes (manual, robotized or automatic). Available new engine series are 7: petrol 1.4 Turbo Jet 120 hp (also bifuel petrol/LPG), 1.4 Multiair 140 hp and 1.8 Di Turbo Jet 200 hp combined to the automatic transmission 6-speed Sportronic; diesel, the new 1.6 MultiJet 105 hp, tested and knew 1.6 Multijet 120 hp (also combined with the Selectronic automatic gearbox), 2.0 MultiJet 165 hp and the powerful 1.9 Twin Turbo MultiJet 190 hp.
