The 2012 BMW 1 Series Coupe and Cabriolet is updated and refers to that of the M Sport version just presented. The facelift of the small Bavarian two-door, available from March 2011, focuses on some aesthetic details and reflects some details introduced by the 1 Series M Sport Coupe. The front bumper has been redesigned to improve aerodynamics, the introduction of a central air intake is larger than the previous version and also new integrated fog lamps and side slits are been added.
NEW LIGHTS: One of the most important news is hidden under the body, where the Air Curtain conveys air from the front to the front wheels to optimize the aerodynamic flow. Another important change is that of the up front, with a thin a new horizontal LED eyebrow above the front headlights, LED daytime running lights and rear L-shaped taillights that with their red color reproduce the typical Bmw visual impression.
Also new 16 “, 17″ or 18 ” alloy wheel depending on the version, and Vermillion or Red Marrakesh for the body tint. More important is for daily use the arrival of the energy recovery system during braking (Kers), which under the EfficientDynamics program is in addition to the Start/Stop system and the optimum shift gear indicator.
THE COCKPIT: Inside the car are now available new materials, innovative color combinations and two steering wheels with shift levers. The button DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) of the instrumentation has been replaced with a new and more easily understood control. Finally, the interior’s finish has been enhanced with contrast edges.
No news, however, for the engines which remain unchanged.
