2012 FORD FOCUS ST – SHOWN IN PARIS

Ford has kept the promises made a year ago in Geneva to develop a more powerful version of the Ford Focus, it is the new Ford Focus ST. At the Paris motor show, these days (2-17 October), the new sporty version was shown next to the Focus five-door, hatchback and wagon, the super-sport car delivers 250 hp and was born to represent the top of the range in terms of performance. New Ford Focus ST uses an aggressive body kit ‘Kinetic Design’, which was applied on the soft shapes of the Focus. The components of the kit are a very pronounced spoiler positioned above the rear window, a double exhaust pipe at the center of the bumper, aerodynamic side extensions, 19″ alloy wheels, an oversized grille.

The Focus ST uses a turbocharged four-cylinder direct-injection 2-liter EcoBoost family, the 4L 8 – shared with Ford and Volvo in the mid/high segment – produces an output of 250 hp, torque 350 Nm. The 5-cylinder engine 2.5 of the earlier Focus ST has not been taken into consideration because of its incompatibility with the new environmental regulations. Ford Marketing for the new model will start soon to brings the Focus ST to dealers since first quarter of 2012, and its marketing will not be restricted only to Europe.
