2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 most powerful Jeep ever

Chrysler introduced the SRT8 a sporty version of the new generation. The model just presented at the New York Motor Show is the most powerful jeep of the brand history and reaches high levels of sportiveness so far for the exclusive prerogative of  Mercedes M-Class AMG and BMW X5 M.

SPORTY DESIGN: main design elements of this version are produced by the high performance division Street and Racing Technology (SRT) of Chrysler Group: 20″ 5-spoke alloy wheels, Brembo brake system (composed of red front 6-piston calipers and rear 4-piston), Command View double sunroof area and exhaust system with 2 large tail pipes. The front recieve a grid with black finish. The interior features other leather details and the steering wheel has shift paddles behind.

ENGINE: the aggressive character of this super Jeep is confirmed by the incredible performance promises, in fact, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 features the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that, after an evolution in the development, generates 465 hp and 630 Nm of couple. The new engine values are very interesting: 250 km/h top speed and 0-100 in 4.8 seconds. From 0 to 400 mt takes 13.5 seconds, while the stopping distance on 100 km/h is 35 mt. The car is fitted with Quadra-Trac four-wheel drive combined with the Selec-Trac system, adaptive suspension. The new exhaust valve, according to automaker, will reduce consumption by 13% less than previous model, which got about 6 km in the combined cycle with a liter of petrol, but in the city dropped below 5.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will debut on the U.S. market in the third quarter and later in Europe.
