Mercedes released official images of the second series of the CLS 63 AMG, the latest powerful version of the German sedan-coupe, which made its debut last November at the Los Angeles Motor Show. The new sportyversion will be available from march, with a target price for the European market of € 115,846.
V8 BITURBO ENGINE: for this car, as with any enhanced version AMG, the main feature is the high power. Under the bonnet lies a new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 capable of delivering 525 hp and a torque of 700 Nm that in combination with the sequential gearbox type Speedshift MCT 7-speed, allows the car to speed at 250 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 in 4.4 seconds. But for those not satisfied, there is a version with the AMG Performance Package boost from 550 hp and 800 Nm. In this case, the car’s top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h, while the 0-100 drops to 4.3 seconds. Despite the new V8 is equipped with two turbochargers, the sound of the new engine seems to be “aspirated” keeping the V8 6.2 feature currently installed on most models of Mercedes-Benz AMG.
FUEL COMSUPTION REDUCED BY 32%: According to data reported by the carmaker, consumption and emissions were reduced by 32% over the previous model, thanks to direct injection engine with start-stop, weight reduction, the wide use of aluminum and other technical devices, the car “burn” now on average 9.9 liters of fuel per 100 km and, according to the designers of the three-pointed star, the values of CO2 is 250 g/km.
Mercedes CLS AMG can be recognized by the larger front air intakes with integrated LED lights, while the rear is dominated by the four exhaust pipes and a small spoiler. Bodykit is completed by specific 5-spoke 19-inch splited alloy wheels . Under the body, the new CLS 63 AMG hides the Adaptive Suspension system that adjusts the trim of the car – featured by rear air suspension – through the modes Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus
