The German carmaker announced it has updated the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, we are talking about a racing model with access on the market, which is probably the most prestigious with over 2,200 units sold. The new 911 GT3 Cup receives updates that make it more versatile, especially during the race, thans to the new fuel tank by 100 liters, while the filler is on the hood.
The race car is based on the production model 911 GT3 RS and will be the last because the new 991 is coming and will be officially presentend at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new 911 GT3 Cup, keeps the same 450 horsepower engine with a peak of 8,500 rpm, the brakes are made with ceramic as indeed for all cars running the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup wich taes place in conjunction with the Formula 1 races. The design of the 911 GT3 Cup stands for 18-inch wheels combined with Michelin racing tires 25/64-18 to the front and 30/68-18 to the rear. The anti-roll bars are adjustable at seven positions, according to the type of circuit and the track conditions.
The new 911 GT3 will be available from September, while the vehicle complies with specs for the seasons 2012 and 2013. The price of the 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is 161,750 euros excluding local taxes.
