2012 Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic, new facelift revealed

2012 Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic, the facelift.

Renault has unveiled the renovated version of both the Scénic and Grand Scénic models with launch expected early next tear. According to the French automaker both will hit the Europe’s market in January 2012. The new models receive a new front fascia, restyled taillights, an exclusive wheels design and LED daytime running lights for the Grand Scenic. Also two new colors for the body, the Grenat Red and Majorelle Blue.

What changes in the inside is not so revolutionary and include the launch of the new trim with unique beige fabric for the Expression and Privilege/Initiale equipment and dark charcoal only for the Privilege/Initiale versions. An optional Bose audio system is also available. Among equipment’s systems, both new models will feature lane departure warning device, automatic headlight function, and hill-start assist, which stops the vehicle from going in reverse on a incline road. The car manufacturer said that the 2012 Scénic will be priced at €21,300 an the Grand Scénic at € 24,800.

Expanded engines-list is going to enlarge the Energy range that comes with Stop&Start system and braking energy recovering. The Renault Grand Scénic and Scénic is considered the first production cars by the brand in the 2012. Available engines starts with the dCi 110 diesel engine of the Energy version. Renault claims that this would have a fuel economy at 4.1 l/100 km with CO2 emissions stated at 105 gr/km. A 1,5-Liter Diesel engine Energy dCi with 130 hp promises a lowered power consumption by 20% compared to the current 1.9 dCi 130 hp. Later in 2012 a new petrol engine TCE Energy with 115 hp is also awaited.
