The pictures on the side and below represent the first images of the new Fiat 500L – meaning ‘Large’ , expected to make its world premier debut at next month’s Geneva motor show from March 6th. The quite larger five-seats 500L, compared to the standard 500 model, is 414cm long, 178cm wide and 166cm high. According to the car maker, the Fiat 500L, built on the Multipla‘s “cab forward”, which pushes the driver compartment forwards over the front axle providing passenger more room mixed with the drive experience of a small SUV.
From launch, which will start between October and December of 2012 in Europe and the first quarter of 2013 in UK, the Fiat 500L will be available with the choice of two petrol engines TwinAir and the 1.4-litre; It’s also available one diesel version with the 1.3-litre Multijet II.
The 500L will be constructed at the Fiat plant in Kragujevac, in Serbia. The Italian car manufacturer confirmed the future introduction of the 500XL, a more stretched version that can accommodate 7 passengers. The new version follows the philosophy by the Lancia Musa – who in its last restyling benefited of an increasing space .
