2013 Ford Flex Crossover unveiled in LA Auto Show

Seven-passenger crossover 2013 Ford Flex looks impressive.

The 2011 Los Angeles Motor Show, just held from 16 to 27 November, showed the ultimate square-shaped crossover Ford Flex, a model reserved for the North American market. Among the new options in the model year 2013 sticks out latest MyFord Touch system and the most modern safety systems, as well as inflatable rear belts.

Ford Flex On board technologies.

The Flex features a huge selection of equipment which includes, among other the rain sensors, key-access system and heated-ventilated front seats. The MyFord Touch manages all the multimedia functions from buttons or knobs on the center console, from steering wheel controls, from your voice or simple via touchscreen. Other features include standard Bluetooth, the USB plug, the automated emergency calls system and Health Report, a quick on-demand diagnostic system that provides all the failure information, malfunction, or regarding the normal maintenance of the car.

Safety is at the top-level in the new Ford Flex, which offers: blind spots control device, adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Collision Avoidance System, this feature a special sensor that detects vehicles up to a distance of 150 meters. But the real jewel of the new Ford Flex are the rear seat belts that blow up in about 0,4 seconds in case of collision, protecting chest and shoulder of passengers.

2013 Ford Flex Engines.

Under the body, runs the new 3.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol engine with 285 hp and 345 Nm of torque. Compared to the current version, the power unit promises reduced fuel consumption with 13 liters per 100 km in the city and the 9 liters per 100 km on the highway. What is kept unchanged is the V6 3.5-liter EcoBoost with 355 hp and 475 Nm of torque. Both engine is offered with a six-speed automatic transmission named SelectShift.
