Audi A3 concept a sedan looking in style

Audi unveiled the A3 Concept, a prototype that makes the premise for the new generation of compact sedan by Ingolstadt, expected to be available in 2012 and designed to attack the U.S. market. The prototype body made of carbon fiber and aluminum frame RS3 Sportback derived, reduces the weight to 1,540 kg. The A3 is also an example of Concept Prossiem Audi LED lighting technology, making it one of his war horses. This A3 sedan would have a place between A1 and A4, it is 4.44 meters long, 1.84 wide and 1.39 meters high, while the wheelbase is 2.63 meters wide and offers plenty of space for passengers as well as a luggage load of 410 liters.

Part of the frame is carbon fiber reinforced (CFRP) as the exterior mirrors, while doors, bonnet and tailgate are aluminum made. Among the big news stands a brushed aluminum handles which protrudes electrically at hand touch, the rear bumper  includes a fiber reinforced metal part including two large tailpipes.

INTERIOR: The cockpit stands out for its many elements with circular design. The instrument panel of MMIN multimedia system is located in the middle of dashboard, is extremely thin and comes out electrically emerging out, a swivel button touchpad incorporates MMI touch making the system even more intuitive and Audi will soon add it for production. ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE: The Audi A3 Concept uses a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder turbo petrol direct injection combined with the automatic transmission 7-speed S-tronic and permanent four-wheel drive Quattro. The Concept A3 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, thanks to its 408 hp and 500 Nm of torque available from 1,600 to 5,300 rpm – also thanks to the launch control – and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h electronically limited. Fuel consumption of this compact sedan is 9.1 litres100 km in combined cycle.

Audi A3 Concept has its balance similar to that of Sportback RS3, using 20-inch alloy wheels with five double spokes made of carbon fiber  and reinforced aluminum, fitted with 245/30 tires. Moreover, with the Audi drive select, you can set a different engine, power steering and transmission on the basis of five modes: comfort, auto, dynamic, and individual efficiency.
