Audi announces changes to the 2012 A1 range

2012 Audi A1
Audi’s newest supermini, the Audi A1, will be launched in May 2011 with a number of exciting features in store. These will include a range of new paintjobs and a lift on colour combination restrictions, new transmission options and reduced CO2 emissions for the A1 1.6 TDI engine. Several new optional extras across the entire Audi range have also been added, including an optional mobile phone preparation system complete with online services, and an LED-lit rear registration plate, which will come as standard across the entire range.

New exterior colours:
Customers will now have even more choice when it comes to customising their Audi A1, with the German car manufacturers having lifted some of the colour combination restrictions on the roof contrast line. The Amalfi White roof contrast line will now be available with Scuba Blue, Sphere Blue, Shiraz Red, Teak Brown metallic, Cumulus Blue in gloss or Misano Red and Phantom Black in pearl effect. The upcoming Audi A1 will also be available in a number of stunning new colours, including an all-new Glacier White metallic finish.

Lower CO2 Emissions:
The next few years hold a whole lot of promise for a move away from fossil fuels to renewable energies and Audi is keeping up with the competition. In line with Euro 5 standards, Audi have reduced the C02 emissions on A1 1.6 TDI engines to a mere 99g/km. These emissions slashes mean that some models will qualify for full Greener Vehicle Discount, which could mean that London drivers will save anywhere up to £2,500 per year on the London Congestion Charge. Make sure you shop around for your insurance, too – try something like the moneysupermarket car insurance comparison tool to find out if your new greener Audi will qualify for a lower premium.

New Optional Extras:
Apart from the snazzy paint and roof contrast line colour options, customers will have the choice of a few other excellent optional extras, including a mobile telephone preparation system with online services starting from as little as £720. The German motor giant has also revealed that all new 2012 A1 models will receive a new LED-lit rear registration plate.
