Best Design awarded Kia Rio in a 20th Century Fox new animation movie

The Kia Rio, which had its world premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, has been brought out in 3-door, 4-door and a 5-door version, the latter awarded “best design” by the Automotive Brand Contest. An entertaining animation (video below) from 20th Century Fox features the all-new Rio, a car with all the things necessary for an efficient car.

Team Kia believes design is more than just apparent elements. It is a subtle language which is spoken through a car, which you perceive with all your senses.The developers involved with Rio claim that they have not be entrapped by their concept of what a ‘compact car’ should be like. They contributed to a result of a new way of looking at what compact cars should provide to buyers, especially wide space and comfort.

The new Korean compact – which is based on the Hyundai i20 platform aspires to perform the good results of the previous generation (860,000 units sold worldwide in 6 years). The new Rio will have a global market. Europe will see, though, only three and five-door versions. The brand new Kia Rio is 70 mm longer than old version and offers a boot with 292 liters in the five-door and 390 liters in the sedan.

According to the car manufacturer, the all-new Rio will offer six engines: a 1.1-liter turbo-diesel with 69 hp and just 85 g/km of CO2 emissions of – and a petrol version 1.2-liter turbo direct-injection. Both engines are designed specifically for Europe’s buyers.
