BMW M5 Concept pictures and videos to preview next sedan

BMW has presented first official photos and videos of the M5 Concept, a sedan made to preview the next M5 F10 and on the stage at the Shanghai Motor Show (21-28 April). The BMW Concept M5 anticipates almost the definitive features of next BMW sedan with a sporty character, while style and features of current models date back to more than 25 years ago and allowed to compete in terms of performance, versatility and comfort with all of the famous supercar.

AERODYNAMIC: The BMW Concept M5 receives some aerodynamic bodywork to manage the increased performance. Cooling for the powerful V8 and the brake system is guaranteed by the larger air intakes which provide more air flow, while the lower spoiler ensures the right downforce. The rear bumper is bigger to accommodate the wider wheelbase and four tailpipes. The rear drive wheels downforce is achieved by a spoiler on the bonnet and a diffuser which brings out the airflow from the underside.

TECHNICAL DETAILS: According to the German automaker, BMW M5 Concept uses a V8 engine with Turbo TwinPower technology with lower emissions (-25% compared to the previous V10), a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with Active M differential, the “Drivelogic” system with which manages the time shifting gear, steering and suspension. The electronic slip control for the internal wheel also optimizes traction on surfaces with different grip (between the left and right wheels) and during the drastic lane changes at high-speed. BMW’s aim is not jst to achieve extreme power but it’s especially important to reach the best fuel efficiency waiting the future market.
