Chrysler has announced that the 200 model, as was the case for the flagship 300, will have soon a sport’s version production as Chrysler 200 S and Chrysler  200 S Convertible.

DESIGN: The model presented at the recent motor show in New York (April 22-May 1) follows the style proposed for the Chrysler 300 with some technical and aesthetic refinements to differ from the standard range and capture customers attention who loves to drive. Both 200 S introduced in New york receive more character thanks to a lowered front bumper, dark grille instead of the chrome, door handles and mirrors matching the body color, darkened headlights and 18″ alloy wheels with dark finish. The trim pack includes some luxurious details such as heated leather seats, perforated leather steering wheel and a multimedia system with voice control and Boston Acoustic sound system with 276-watt CD player, DVD , MP3 and 30 Gb hard drive.

TECHNICAL DETAILS: the “S mission” launched by Chrysler also covers some technical aspects, such as the new suspension geometry and some balance measures as the wheelbase +2.5 cm, the front height from ground – 12 mm and -6 mm to the rear, new wider tires of 225 mm. The Chrysler 200 S is available with the 3.6 V6 engine but only 286 hp and 353 Nm, combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The base price for the 200 S is $ 26,790 (€ 18,700 at today’s exchange rate) for the sedan and $ 32,490 (€ 22,688) for the convertible. Currently the marketing is reserved solely for North America but do not exclude that Fiat Group decides to import the 200 S to Europe as Lancia Flavia.
