At the annual meeting between the house of the red horse and car dealers, was presented the new Ferrari 458 Challenge, which comes from the 458 Italia and will be used to race. The car will have its debut in the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Tropy from next year.
The engine remains unchanged, the 4.5-liter V8 that delivers 570 hp / 419 Kw at 9000 rpm, has been modified the dual-clutch gearbox with new gear ratios able to increase the torque at low speed. As soon took to the Fiorano circuit (Italy), the red fireball showed 1’16″5, lowering the lap time of 2 seconds of the predecessor 458 Italia. Among other important changes of this version, designed for professionals and enthusiasts gentleman should be mentioned: the Brembo brakes already used in the 599XX version and integrated with an stabilizing ABS system for different surface conditions to ensure maximum grip, reduced weight using special carbon fiber, harder suspensions and 19″ wheels.
