Genty unveils newborn Akylone Supercar delivering more than 1000 HP
French car maker Genty Automobile reveals the Akylone supercar, promising a whole lot of performance potential, combining optimum power with a lightweight design. The astonishing engine boasts 1014 hp at 8000 rpm and 1200 Nm of maximum torque thanks to its Twin-Turbo 4.8-litres V8. The French firm is an independent design company that seeks producing high performance vehicles that try to combine the basics of extreme power with a lightweight body. The first French’s offering looks and resembles what you’d expect from a mid-supercar, featuring luxurious and expensive materials as carbon fiber and aluminum. Designers of this super car didn’t forget to add a pair of scissor doors, an enormous rear diffuser, and LED daytime running lights. The interior includes the sports seats, an sophisticated infotainment system, and a wide center console. The supercar weights only 1100 kg with a front/rear weight distribution ratio of 42:58 on a carbon fiber chassis. The 1000 hp engine is combined to an Xtrac seven-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters. Newborn Akylone gets a top speed of 350 km/h, with a sprint time on 0-100 km/h of 2,7 seconds – 7,2 seconds 0-200 km/h, 14 seconds 0-300 km/h. Although it is not as powerful as the famous Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, numbers confirms that in the acceleration time is still quicker. To manage this power have been used 396 mm carbon-ceramic disk for the braking system with 6 piston calipers on the front and 380 mm with 4 piston calipers on the rear, while the 265/30 tyres on the front and 335/30 tyres on the rear covers the huge 20″ wheels.
The Akylone should make its official debut toward the end of 2012 at the Paris Motor Show, while it’s not sure yet the price of a Genty Automobile Akylone, but it is confirmed the targeting around 15 unit being assembled in its French warehouse.
