The four-door Kia GT Concept is a sporty four-seater coupe that received a very positive reaction at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this month. The Korean car maker said that the Kia GT Concept will probably come into in production in 2013.
Technical aspects of the engine states that the car is driven by a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 with 389 horsepower and 533 Nm of torque, while power for the Kia GT Coupe is routed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Confirmed also that the car relies on the rear-wheel drive. According to preliminary information, the GT concept would use “unconventional materials for the bodywork and interior while Debut of the standard version is expected next year.
Kia chief design officer, Peter Schreyer, said that the exciting rear-wheel drive performance coupe would be the great addition to the South Korean company reinvigorated global line. Mr Schreyer said“It would be a dream to put the Kia GT Concept Coupe into production – it has a logical layout, with four seats, and good luggage spot, and it’s also engaging and dynamic and makes a strong statement. It’s exactly the kind of car that Kia’s brand should be making”.
Designed after the rear-drive luxury grand tourers of the 70’s, the Kia GT Concept is a rear-drive coupe with the Audi A7 clearly in its target. Kia GT Concept’s design team wanted to ensure that the prototype couldn’t be erroneous taken for anything but a rear-drive coupe,the outcome are an pronounced hood, short front and bulging rear shoulders that emphasize the car’s style.
