Lotus will present new Evora with the introduction of version S and IPS, the models will be shown officially at the next Paris Motor Show (2-17 October). The Lotus Evora S is the sports version of the Evora engine equipped with the 3.5 VVT-i V6 Toyota origin but with a turbocharger that has permission to raise power to 350 hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm. The Evora S accelerates, as stated by the manufacturer, from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed 275 km/h, the vehicle weight is 1,437 Kg. CO2 emissions are 235 g/km, while the average consumption is 10.2 liters per 100 km. The data collected barely hinted slightly worse if you choose 19-inch front alloy wheels (optional) and 20 inches at the rear. To meet the increased performance of the supercars, Lotus has made a different suspension settings, a powerful brakes and aerodynamic changes with a more advanced (and gaudy) rear air extractor. The most demanding driver can press the “Sport” button which increases performance by removing the RPM limiter and finally opens an exhaust valve that promises a more engaging “sound”.
Evora IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift), is equipped with six-speed automatic transmission paired with aspirated 3.5 V6 280 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The gearbox is automatic with paddle shifter and combined with the pack “sport.” Regarding the performance, IPS Evora reaches 250 km/h top speed and takes from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. As underlined by the CEO Dany Bahar, the Lotus Evora IPS was designed to satisfy the needs of potential customers of U.S. markets, Asian and Middle Eastern.
