German tuner VÄTH has unveiled a new conversion kit for the Mercedes CL 500, for those who are not satisfied with the 435 hp of the standard version for sale from € 128,000 and do not want to wait for the AMG version.
Vath’s engineers have modified the performance of the 4.6 liter V8 remapping the ECU, new stainless steel exhaust and replacing the air vents, the engine of the Mercedes CL 500 is thus able to produce power up to 460 hp, and instead top speed of 250 km/h declared on the standard model has reached 290 km/h (limited).
The aerodynamics has played a part in optimizing the performance with Vath kit which uses a rear spoiler and a diffuser, both in carbon fiber. The kit also includes 20″ alloy wheels with 245/30 front tyres and 285/25 at the rear, adjustable suspension in three positions and a more powerful braking system. Also some tweaking to the interior, with Carbon fiber finishes, sport steering wheel and speedometer showing a scale up to 360 km/h.
