New Hyundai i40 for European market

The debut of the Hyundai i40 previewed at the recent Geneva Motor Show was a major event for  the South Korean brand, which develops for the first time a D-segment car specifically for European customers.

DESIGN AND CAR TRIM: the Hyundai i40 shows a pleasing design with hexagonal grid in front which are inherited from the Genus concept car that foreshadowed the style and contents of this car. The i40 is 4.7 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.77 meters, those details allow a excellent comfort to passengers as well as a good hood load ranging from 553 to 1,719 liters with the rear seats folded. The car trim of the i40 includes ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated and reclining rear seat, lane-keeping device, parking assist with rear camera, navigation system, xenon headlights, Bluetooth device and fog-proof windshield. Active safety is ensured by ESC, brake balance, management system  device for stability and hill starts, while the passive safety uses up to 9 airbags.
ENGINES: from this summer the Hyundai i40 will be available in many  European countries, engines are 4 (Euro 5), two petrol and two diesel all with Blue Drive which provides start/stop, low tire rolling resistance and new alternator management system (AMS) and combination with manual or automatic transmission. Diesel engines are very good in terms of consumption and uses the engine 1.7 U II  of 115 hp (4.3 l/100 km – CO2 113 g / km) and 136 hp. The base petrol engine is the 1.6 135 hp, while the top of the range is the 2.0 GDI direct injection with 177 hp and 213 Nm of torque that combined with 6-speed manual transmission allows the i40 to get 100 km with 6,2l of fuel and 156 g/km of CO2. Still there is no news on prices.
