The new Toyota Yaris, which will be officially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, started its production in the French plant in Valenciennes. The new Toyota Yaris, which will go on sale in October for the European market is more attractive than the current model and offers a rich equipment to compete with some compact cars that dominate the segment as the VW Polo, Ford Fiesta and Opel Corsa.
The new Toyota Yaris is maintains its size under four meters (3.88 meters) which is the standard class size. The bigger length has increased consequently the wheelbase which is 2,51 meters offering more legroom for rear passengers. The trunk of the new Toyota Yaris also receive its benefits from the size upgrading and the space now is of 286 liters. The only value dimension that decreases is the height of the car from the ground that is lower than 2 cm compared to the current model.
The upgrade of the new Toyota Yaris does not offer important news regarding the engines, but only minor updates. The range includes three-cylinder 1.0-liter 69-hp and a 99 hp version. The diesel version is represented by the 1.4-liter, 90 hp. The Japanese carmaker said that the new Toyota Yaris has improved fuel efficiency and emissions with a reduction of 10%. Among the few changes in the new Toyota Yaris concerns the 1.3-Liter that features a seven-speed automatic transmission Multidrive S continuously variable, while the diesel version can benefit the optional six-speed automated manual transmission without a clutch pedal and with paddles behind the steering wheel.
The new Toyota Yaris did not forget the technology with lastest equipment that features, for instance, a rear camera that projects images on a screen, and the panoramic glass roof which can be darkened by closing two panels.
