Volkswagen launches another Cross model to the european market, after CrossGolf and CrossPolo, now comes the new CrossTouran. As was the case for the other two Cross, for this new model MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) Volkswagen derived, keeps only the Suv’s appearance as under its ‘dressing’ hides a front-wheel drive engine.
Why is it called Cross Touran? this title ‘Cross’ indicates a particular version of a car that can also be used for a gravel path but not too challenging, off-road, by increasing the height of the vehicle from the ground and adding caps on the body’s risky sides.
Ingredients of the Cross recipe are the usual ones. The aesthetic changes are signed by Walter de Silva, head of Volkswagen Group Design: more thin front grille, rectangular headlights than the normal version. On the Volkswagen CrossTouran you immediately notice the presence of gray plastic moldings to protect the bumper, sills and wheel arches, which standing out the 17-inch alloy wheels with tires 215 on the front and 235 on the rear. As mentioned, it increased the car height of 20 millimeters more than the normal Touran.
2011 Volkswagen CrossTouran will be available in combination with all the revised Touran’s range engines, including two new petrol engines 105 hp 1.2 TSI, 1.4 TSI 140 hp and version Ecofuel CNG 1.4 TSI engine from 170 hp. The engine offer of 2011 CrossTouran for diesel category are three, 105 hp 1.6 TDI, 2.0 TDI 140 hp and 170 hp.
In Germany CrossTouran is already sold to a basic price of 27,000 euros.
