Porsche announces the debut of the Cayman S Black Edition, a variant of the small sedan from Stuttgart which will be limited to only 500 units worldwide for sale from next July. The Porsche Cayman S Black Edition, as with the Boxster S gets more power for the 3.4-liter, from 320 hp goes to 330 at 7,400 rpm (+200 rpm), whereas max torque is as before, 370 Nm at 4,750 rpm.
BLACK EDITION: German designers have introduced the now famous package Black Edition, as did on the 911 and Boxster S, they have also used the same 19-inch alloy wheels of the Boxster Spyder combined with front 235/35 tires and rear 265/35. Interior materials are also black, including leather seats, while among standard equipment the Sport Design steering wheel, Bi-Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, cruise control and the particular Sound Package Plus, which includes the audio system, navigation system, hands-free kit, the AUX, USB and iPod.
PERFORMANCE: Porsche states that the Cayman S Black Edition takes just 5.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and 4.8 seconds if used the Launch control system, designed to optimize standing starts. The top speed is 280 km/h, and drops to 277 km/h if has been chosen the automatic trasmission PDK. Despite the increase in performance, emissions are 223 g/km of CO2 when using the manual trasmission and 221 g/km with the automatic PDK.
The average European price of the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition is € 68,300.
