Smart anticipates his future with the Forspeed Concept, a electric prototype exposed during these days at Geneva, and foreshadows the future choices of style and techniques to be applied to standard models.
Although this is only a prototype, many of the tested solutions in fact, will be used later on new Smart versions to be launched on the market by 2014. The Forspeed design stands out with the topless and a new front with drop shaped lights, led technology and a new grille. The latter is featured by honeycomb air intakes which gives a touch of sportiness to the car.
Smart Forspeed Concept is also a green city car, an electric motor from the rear, push the prototype with 40 hp. The range is of 135 km. Also an overboost delivers on request 7 more hp, activated by a switch. Top speed is about 120 km/h. The recharging socket is hidden under the Smart logo between the two brushed aluminum roll bars.
