Peugeot 208 one more supermini.
Folks from Peugeot have unveiled their brand new B segment compact-car Peugeot 208 that will replace the current 207 series. The new car will be offered in two body styles (3-door and 5-door) and will attempts to reinvent the principles in order to appeal to a wide variety of customers, as it already was for many models in the brand as 205 and 206. The A9 project, which is the new internally name, together with the overall improvements claims the exclusive architecture, design, ergonomics, driving experience and performance.

Being clearly influenced by the latest design trends initiated by the new 508, the Peugeot 208 features some aesthetic components such as the floating grille and the curving taillights. The supermini weights 975 Kg, 110 Kg less than the 207, 7 cm smaller in length, 1 cm shorter and even though its dimension is considered a very compact car. Inside the space has been increased with more 5 cm for the rear-passengers Knee. With the Peugeot 208, French car maker wished to build a sensational car in terms of appearance, perfectly combined with exterior style harmonized at the interior. The cabin has been renovated from the beginning featuring a better and adjustable steering wheel as well as the higher-positioned instrument panel.

Under the body of the Peugeot 208, the new powerplant offers diesel and petrol engines. The turbodiesel units are almost all equipped with Start & Stop e-HDi “micro-hybrid” . According to the car manufacturer, the diesel range claims a fuel economy of 3.4 lt/100 km and never exceeds the 99g/Km of CO2 emissions. On average, emissions are 34 g/km lower compared to its predecessor thanks to the new powerplants, lower weight and improved aerodynamics with coefficient of 0.29.
The Peugeot 208 will compete in the highly competitive European B-segment challenging cars as the Toyota Yaris and Ford Fiesta.
