Jeep unveils a new Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD for the european market with new 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine produced by Fiat Powertrain and VM Motori, recently joined the Fiat Group.
The new 3.0 V6 turbo 245-hp and 550 Nm of torque is about 10% more powerful than previous engine. At the same time, the Fiat engine ensures low power consumption with 10.3 liters per 100 km in the town and 7.2 liters per 100 km on the highway, which means 8.3 liters per 100 km on the combined cycle. The common rail injection system from 1800 bar uses the same technology Multijet II developed and patented by Fiat Powertrain and debuted in 2009 on the 1.3 Small Diesel Engine of the Punto Evo. This engine has a cast iron exhaust manifolds, catalytic converter and a particulate filter as standard. Compliance with the strict Euro 5 emissions is respected through a system of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), EGR valve with DC motor and high performance EGR cooler system with bypass.
The Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD with Fiat engine comes with two new packs: Laredo and Limited, the first with only a version 190 hp. Expected at european dealerships from Spring.
